Davide Rigon geeft Anderlecht thuisoverwinning in Super Final

Davide Rigon heeft alsnog voor een Belgisch succes gezorgd op het circuit van Zolder. Nadat de kampioen van 2008 de zege in de eerste race nog moest laten aan Chris van der Drift, heeft de coureur van RSC Anderlecht de Super Final wél op zijn nama geschreven.

De start van de race verliep chaotisch. Polesitter Van der Drift stond te ver opgesteld op de grid, maar kon niet meer achteruit rijden. De Nederlandse Nieuw-Zeelander behield de leiding, maar moest deze in de eerste bocht al afstaan aan Davide Rigon van RSC Anderlecht.

Omdat alleen Van der Drift en Rigon nog een setje nieuwe banden hadden voor deze race, reed het duo al snel weg van de concurrentie. Uiteindelijk was Rigon ditmaal wél sterker dan Van der Drift, terwijl Julien Jousse van AS Roma de derde plaats pakte. Tristan Gommendy, Yelmer Buurman en Max Wissel eindigden als vierde, vijfde en zesde.
