Neel Jani maakt Superleague-debuut voor Olympiacos

Neel Jani zal komend weekend zijn debuut maken in de Superleague Formula. De voormalig A1GP-kampioen en Red Bull-testrijder zal het weekend in Portimao rijden voor Olympiacos. Jani vervangt hiermee de gewonde Chris van der Drift, die vorig raceweekend werd vervangen door Ben Hanley.

Van der Drift raakte bij een crash op Brands Hatch zwaar gewond en werd voor de race op Adria vervangen door Ben Hanley. De Brit kende een erg goed weekend, maar moet voor komend weekend plaatsmaken voor Jani. De Zwitser was enkele jaren ChampCar-coureur, pakte de titel in de A1GP en was testrijder van Red Bull Racing.

Er zijn meer rijderswisselingen voor de races op Portimao. Bordeaux en Sporting Lissabon staan weer aan de start met Maximo Cortes en Celso Miguez respectievelijk achter het stuur. Tristan Gommendy verhuist naar Olympique Lyon, zijn opvolger bij Galatasaray luistert naar de naam Andy Soucek.
