Alvaro Parente bezorgt FC Porto zege in tweede race

Alvaro Parente heeft de tweede Superleague-race van het weekend in Navarra op zijn naam geschreven. De Portugese coureur bleef PSV-rijder Esteban Guerrieri 1,6 seconden voor. Doordat kampioenschapsleider Davide Rigon slechts elfde werd is de strijd om de titel nog altijd onbeslist.

Parente en Guerrieri kende beiden een solide race en pakten de eerste twee posities. Marcos Martinez pakte de laatste podiumplaats voor Sevilla FC, terwijl Craig Dolby van Tottenham Hotspur de beste titelkandidaat was op de vierde plaats. De Brit startte als zestiende, maar kende een sterke race. Hierdoor zal de strijd om het kampioenschap pas in de Super Final worden beslist.

Maxi Cortes eindigde voor AS Roma als vijfde, gevolgd door John Martin en Chris van der Drift. Yelmer Buurman was op de twaalfde plaats pas de beste Nederlander voor AC Milan, één positie achter kampioenschapsleider Davide Rigon. Robert Doornbos viel na zes ronden uit.
