Slimme strategie helpt Gasly aan tweede zege

Het seizoen van Pierre Gasly in de Japanse Super Formula kwam moeizaam op gaan, maar met zijn eerste zege op Motegi lijkt de Fransman de ban te hebben gebroken. Gasly reed tactisch gezien een zeer slimme wedstrijd en dat leverde het Red Bull-talent zijn tweede zege binnen een maand op.

Gasly mocht vanaf de vijfde plaats vertrekken op het circuit van Autopolis, maar kwam na een rondje al als tweede door. Gasly besloot redelijk vroeg naar binnen te komen voor zijn verplichte bandenwissel, leider Tomoki Nojiri ging voor een lange stint. Het bracht de Japanner uiteindelijk niets, aangezien Gasly veel sneller was op versere banden. 

Toen Nojiri eenmaal zijn stop had gemaakt was Gasly al aan de horizon verdwenen. Dankzij de zege is Gasly ook opeens titelkandidaat, Gasly heeft vijf punten achterstand op de leider in het kampioenschap. De volgende race is op het circuit van Sportsland SUGO.

Ik verwacht dat als Verschoor volgend jaar een zeer goed seizoen gaat draaien, hij in 2019 naast Gasly zal gaan rijden bij Toro Rosso.

    Ik verwacht dat als Verschoor volgend jaar een zeer goed seizoen gaat draaien, hij in 2019 naast Gasly zal gaan rijden bij Toro Rosso.

      Verschoor rijd nu nog in de Formule Renault 2.0 en doet dat nog niet al te goed, die moet eerder blij zij als hij volgend jaar nog in het RB junior team zit

      in ieder geval is F1 in 2019 nog veel te vroeg voor Verschoor aangezien die volgend jaar waarschijnlijk nog een jaar FR 2.0 rijd.

      Verschoor dit kan zijn laatste jaar in de autosport zijn. Niet goed genoeg, en kan het zelf niet betalen.

      Mwoah, hij krijgt echt wel na 1e jaar leertijd een 2e jaar, ook bij RBR. In 2e jaar moet ie presteren. Bijna alle coureurs, uitzonderingen daargelaten, hebben echt tijd nodig in hun debuutjaar om te settelen.
