Viscaal heeft zin in 'thuisrace' op Spa: "We zijn er helemaal klaar voor"

Bent Viscaal komt zaterdagmiddag in actie bij de zes uur van Spa-Francorchamps voor het World Endurance Championship. Voor de Tukker voelt het een beetje als een thuiswedstrijd, want zijn woonplaats ligt 'maar' 300 kilometer van het roemruchtige Belgische circuit af. Viscaal heeft er ieder geval veel zin in.

"We zijn er helemaal klaar voor”, laat een gemotiveerde Viscaal optekenen vanuit Wallonië. “In het vorige raceweekend hebben we gezien dat het met onze snelheid wel snor zit, we hebben enkel pech gehad in de kwalificatie. De zusterauto stond op pole, dus wat betreft de pace hadden wij geen probleem."

"Spa biedt geweldige kansen om weer flink gas te geven. Het is een prachtig circuit waar ik graag mag komen. Het zal hier komend weekend druk worden: van wat ik heb gehoord, vliegen de tribunekaarten de deur uit. Dat geeft ons alleen maar meer motivatie om er een mooie wedstrijd van te maken, aanstaande zaterdagmiddag."

"Aangezien Juan Manuel Correa verplichtingen elders heeft, rijdt Andrea Caldarelli dit weekend weer met Filip Ugran en mij in de #9 Prema Racing bolide. De samenwerking met Andrea verliep in Sebring zeer voortvarend en ik zie er naar uit om weer met hem aan onze zijde de strijd aan te gaan. De sfeer bij Prema is uitstekend en het totaalpakket ziet er goed uit: laat dat raceweekend maar starten!”, besluit Viscaal strijdvaardig.

Viscaal scoorde met zijn Prema-team tot dusver een zesde en achtste plaats op Portimoa en Sebring.

De race in de Ardennen begint om 12.45 uur en wordt in Nederland uitgezonden op Eurosport 2 en Videoland.
