Viscaal jaagt op Le Mans-succes: "Ga mij niet wagen aan voorspellingen"

Aankomend weekend staat de iconische 24 uur van Le Mans weer op het programma. De race viert zijn honderdste verjaardag en de organisatie pakt dan ook flink uit. Aan de race nemen ook weer veel Nederlanders deel. Bent Viscaal is een kanshebber in de LMP2-klasse en hij kijkt uit naar het aankomende weekend.

Viscaal rijdt dit jaar in het World Endurance Championship voor het team van Prema. Op Le Mans deelt de man uit Albergen zijn wagen met startnummer 9 met Juan Manuel Correa en Filip Ugran. Viscaal neemt voor de tweede keer deel aan de 24 uur van Le Mans en kan in dienst van het topteam van Prema een gooi gaan doen naar een topresultaat in de LMP2-klasse.

Startvlag

Viscaal kijkt dan ook uit naar de race van aankomend weekend. De voorbereidingen zijn in volle gang en Viscaal en consorten hebben dan ook al de startvlag getekend. In een persbericht kijkt hij vooruit: "Volgens mij kan niemand wachten tot de Franse startvlag aankomend weekend wordt gezwaaid. Toevallig mocht ik die vlag als eerste tekenen, wellicht is dat een voorteken. Binnen Prema is iedereen gefocust op deze wedstrijd. Vorig jaar finishte dit team als tweede, dus de kennis om een podium te scoren is er."

Voorspellingen

Viscaal was vorig jaar met ARC Bratislava dichtbij succes op Le Mans. Problemen gooiden toen roet in het eten, maar Viscaal was dankbaar voor het avontuur. Voor dit jaar wil hij niet te vroeg juichen: "Aan voorspellingen ga ik mij niet wagen, daarvoor duurt deze race veel te lang. Het enige wat je als rijder kan doen is blind vertrouwen op je collega's, monteurs en engineers, om zelf het maximale eruit te halen. Het resultaat komt op zondagmiddag wel ter sprake, tot die tijd is het een kwestie van gas geven en de boel heelhouden. Ik kan niet wachten om van start te gaan!"

Sinds afgelopen weekend volg ik het IG account van fiawc_official.
Heel leuk wat ze allemaal op hun story plaatsen.
Enorm leuk om te zien wat er allemaal aan vooraf gaat in de straten in de buurt.
Het was tot nu toe één groot feest voor de kijkers/inwoners daar aanwezig.

  Kvyat eindigt in de top 3 met zijn Prema Team als zijn vrouwelijke collega, de Franse jongedame Doriane Pin deze keer tenminste iets beter haar best doet!

  YES !! Kvyat heeft zich op de derde plaats gekwalificeerd en neemt dus
  morgenavond deel aan de Hyperpole. (voor de eerste acht plaatsen)
