Van Buuren wisselt van renstal

Meindert van Buuren rijdt dit weekend in andere kleuren dan tot nu toe gebruikelijk was dit seizoen in de World Series by Renault. Lotus heeft het contract met de Nederlander verbroken. Voor de ronde op de Red Bull Ring van dit weekend vond hij onderdak bij Pons Racing, als teamgenoot van Roberto Merhi.

Zijn plek bij Lotus wordt opgevuld door GP2-coureur Marlon Stockinger. Van Buuren: "Lotus heeft recent besloten om onze overeenkomst op te zeggen. Ik ben zeer teleurgesteld en wil niet verder op de situatie ingaan. Voor de eerstvolgende ronde in de World Series by Renault sluit ik me aan bij Pons Racing. Ik ga mijn best doen om punten voor het kampioenschap te scoren."
