Ferrari komende zes jaar motorleverancier A1GP

De A1 Grand Prix-organisatie heeft zoals verwacht een contract afgesloten met Ferrari. Het Italiaanse sportautomerk levert de komende zes jaar de motoren aan de serie en krijgt bovendien een adviserende rol bij het ontwerp en de bouw van de nieuwe auto. Daarnaast wordt Ferrari partner van de A2 Grand Prix, een regionale opstapklasse die nieuwe talenten voor de A1 Grand Prix moet leveren. De eerste tests voor de A2GP staan gepland voor 2009.

A! Grand Prix-baas Tony Teixeira: Deze overeenkomst met het wereldberoemde Ferrari zal A1 Grand Prix definitief op de kaart zetten als een gevestigde raceklasse. Ferrari is een toegevoegde waarde voor het merk A1GP en in onze ogen bestaat er geen betere partner om de komende jaren mee door te groeien.

De komende weken gaan wij gesprekken aan met onze commerciële partners en dan gaan we het hebben over de ontelbare mogelijkheden die deze verbintenis ons biedt. Ferrari is een merk dat wereldwijd activiteiten heeft en wij zullen er voor zorgen dat ze nauw worden betrokken bij elk evenement van de A1GP World Cup of Motorsport.
