Ammermuller vervangt Vietoris in Maleisie

Michael Ammermuller rijdt de A1 Grand Prix-races in Maleisië voor Team Duitsland. Vaste coureur Christian Vietoris kan niet omdat hij een Formule 1-test bij BMW Sauber af gaat werken. Ammermuller testte al eerder voor Team Duitsland in 2006. Ik ben dolblij dat ik een tweede kans krijg en dat we de regerend kampioen zijn geeft mij extra motivatie.

Ammermuller vervolgt: Het is een mooie uitdaging voor mij om de eer van mijn land te verdedigen en er voor te zorgen dat we kans op de titel houden. Ook al heb ik nog nooit op het circuit van Sepang gereden, ik wil dolgraag laten zien dat ik deze kans terecht krijg door een goed resultaat neer te zetten in Maleisië.

Teambaas Willi Weber denkt niet dat Ammermuller eenmalig in de auto zal plaatsnemen. Ik ben blij met de rentree van Michael. We willen hem een kans geven om zijn naam te vestigen op een internationaal podium. Christian is nu al begonnen met de voorbereidingen op het Formule 3-seizoen 2008 en dat wordt de komende maanden alleen maar intensiever. Het is dan ook mooi dat we met Michael een tweede jonge getalenteerde coureur in ons team hebben, ook voor na Maleisië.
