Franck Montagny moet Team Frankrijk aan titel helpen

Franck Montagny maakt komend weekend zijn opwachting in de A1 Grand Prix. De oud Formule 1-coureur is voor de laatste twee weekenden opgeroepen om Team Frankrijk aan de titel te helpen. Loic Duval en Jonathan Cochet reden 108 punten bijeen voor de Fransen, twintig punten minder dan Team Zwitserland.

Montagny: Toen het team mij vroeg om de laatste twee evenementen voor mijn rekening te nemen heb ik eerst mijn agenda gecontroleerd om te zien of het mogelijk is en toen dat het geval bleek heb ik zonder aarzelen positief geantwoord. Het wordt moeilijk, maar ik heb veel zin om bij te dragen aan de jacht op de titel. Op papier is het kampioenschap nog mogelijk en ik kan niet wachten om achter het stuur van de auto te kruipen en de potentie te ontdekken.

Sportief directeur Olivier Panis: Wij verwelkomen Franck! Sinds het begin van het seizoen hebben wij geroepen dat de titel ons doel is en de komst van Franck geeft het hele team een boost. Twintig punten in vier races goedmaken is een lastige opgave, maar we gaan er alles aan doen om de eerste plek te veroveren.
