Team Nederland aast op plek in top vijf

Team Nederland heeft in de vrije training voor het A1 Grand Prix-weekend op het circuit van Sjanghai de twaalfde tijd neergezet. Team Portugal realiseerde de snelste tijd. Jeroen Bleekemolen was 1,2 seconde langzamer en de twaalfde stek is niet genoeg voor de doelstellingen van Team Nederland. De renstal wil namelijk de top vijf van het kampioenschap binnendringen.

Op dit moment staat Team Nederland zesde, met acht punten minder dan Zuid-Afrika dat vijfde staat. Bleekemolen: Ik kijk erg uit naar het weekend. Ik heb nog nooit op dit circuit geracet, maar dat moet geen probleem zijn. De baan ziet er redelijk uit, met het lange rechte stuk waarop we de hoogste topsnelheid van het jaar halen.

Het weer is zeer wisselvallig, wat voor een interessante race kan zorgen. Als je wil winnen moet je zowel op een droge als op een natte baan snel zijn, want de voorspellingen zijn dat het morgen heel nat wordt en voor zondag verwachten ze weer iets beter weer. Ons doel is om een plek te stijgen in het kampioenschap, hopelijk zitten we snel in de top vijf.
