Mugello lost Zandvoort af als seizoensopener

Het vierde A1 Grand Prix-seizoen begint met een race op het circuit van Mugello. Het Italiaanse circuit komt voor het eerst op de kalender en is van 19 tot en met 21 september gastheer van de seizoensopener. Daarmee lost het Circuit Park Zandvoort af als eerste race van een A1 Grand Prix-seizoen. Het circuit in de duinen opende de afgelopen twee seizoenen, maar is nu verdrongen van de eerste plek op de kalender. Het weekend in Nederland is volgend seizoen het tweede evenement, twee weken na de opening op Mugello.
