Nieuwe auto voltooit test op Imola

De voorbereidingen op het nieuwe A1 Grand Prix-seizoen zijn al in volle gang. Het seizoen 2008/2009 markeert de start van een nieuw tijdperk met een door Ferrari aangedreven en ontworpen nieuwe auto. Die nieuwe bolide wordt al flink aan tests onderworpen. Zo ook deze week op het circuit van Imola met Andrea Bertolini achter het stuur.

John Wickham, directeur bij de A1 Grand Prix-organisatie, is tevreden met de testresultaten. Tot nu toe hebben we al ongeveer negenhonderd kilometer gereden met de nieuwe auto, zonder noemenswaardige problemen. De wagen presteert goed en de coureur is te spreken over hoe de bolide aanvoelt. De balans is in orde en de banden werken naar behoren.

We hebben niet zoveel gereden als we hadden gehoopt, gedeeltelijk veroorzaakt door het weer. De auto ziet er in de regen trouwens ook heel snel uit. De bolide is bovendien zeer betrouwbaar. We kijken al uit naar de vijfdaagse test van volgende week op het circuit van Guadix.
