Team Groot-Brittannië kiest voortaan voor vaste coureur

Team Groot-Brittannië gaat het komende A1 Grand Prix-seizoen aanvangen met één vaste coureur. In de voorgaande jaargangen opteerde het team altijd voor een roulatiesysteem. Zo wisselden Oliver Jarvis en Robbie Kerr elkaar het afgelopen seizoen steeds af. Dat is vanaf nu afgelopen.

Teambaas Katie Clements legt uit: Onze coureurs kwamen steeds terug na een tijdje niet in de auto gereden te hebben en af en toe raceten ze tussendoor in andere series. Daardoor konden ze niet optimaal aan de auto gewend raken en dat is een van de redenen waarom we voortaan voor een vaste coureur opteren.

Ons doel is om het kampioenschap en een vaste coureur is een element waarmee we dat willen bereiken. Kijk maar naar Team Zwitserland en Team Nieuw-Zeeland, zij eindigden het afgelopen seizoen boven ons en maakten gebruik van één coureur. En wie weet waar Team Frankrijk was geëindigd als ze Loic Duval hadden behouden, wij hebben ze verslagen omdat ze met rijders gingen wisselen.
