A1 Grand Prix wil race in Brazilië

De A1 Grand Prix-organisatie wil graag komend seizoen voor het eerst een race in Zuid-Amerika houden. De leiding van de raceklasse ziet daar mogelijkheden toe in Brazilië. De Braziliaanse president Luis Inacio Lula da Silva en de minister van Sport Orlando Silva spraken afgelopen week met Emerson Fittipaldi, seatholder van Team Brazilië, en spraken in die ontmoeting hun interesse in een race uit.

A1 Grand Prix-baas Tony Teixeira: We wilden altijd al met de A1 Grand Prix naar Zuid-Amerika en Brazilie is wat dat betreft een gedroomde plek gezien de racegeschiedenis en de geweldige coureurs die het land geproduceerd heeft. De Braziliaanse fans geven veel steun aan de serie. Nu we ook de support van de Braziliaanse overheid hebben is een race in de Zuid-Amerikaanse regio een stap dichterbij.
