Autos te laat klaar voor Mugello, Zandvoort opent seizoen

De nieuwe door Ferrari aangedreven en ontworpen A1 Grand Prix-bolides zijn niet op tijd klaar voor het geplande eerste raceweekend op het circuit van Mugello. Dat evenement is dan ook uitgesteld tot een nog bekend te maken datum. Circuit Park Zandvoort wordt automatisch de nieuwe seizoensopener op 5 oktober.

De problemen aan de auto liggen in een herontworpen ophanging na een crash van Patrick Friesacher. A1 Grand Prix-directeur Pete da Silva: We hadden al optimistisch ingezet bij ons programma, maar we dachten het wel te kunnen halen. Dit heeft niets te maken met het werk van onze partners of het technische team. Een ongelukkige samenloop van omstandigheden zorgt voor deze maatregel. We moeten ons nu concentreren op de toekomst. Er komen nog mooie dingen aan voor deze serie en we maken binnenkort onze volledige kalender voor komend seizoen bekend.
