A1 Grand Prix bevestigt Brands Hatch als seizoensafsluiter

De organisatie van de A1 Grand Prix heeft vandaag bevestigd dat de Engelse race van de klasse opnieuw verreden zal worden op het circuit van Brands Hatch. Tevens zal het evenement voor de derde achtereenvolgende keer de seizoensafsluiter zijn, begin mei 2009.

De toekomst van de A1GP op Brands Hatch was een tijd lang onduidelijk, toen het circuit niet voorkwam op de voorlopige kalender. Volgens geruchten zouden er drie andere circuits in de running zijn om de race te organiseren. Uiteindelijk gaat het landencircus dus toch weer naar Brands Hatch.

A1GP-baas Pete da Silva: "Het stemt ons tot tevredenheid dat we bekend kunnen maken dat we voor het vierde achtereenvolgende jaar naar Brands Hatch gaan voor een A1GP-race. We hebben ons best gedaan een interessante kalender samen te stellen voor de nieuwe A1GP powered by Ferrari en Brands Hatch hoort absoluut op die kalender thuis."
