Team Nederland tweede bij test op Donington Park

Team Nederland heeft tijdens de tweede testdag op het circuit van Donington Park de tweede tijd gerealiseerd. Jeroen Bleekemolen reed 62 ronden over de Engelse baan en kwam tot een 1:17.886. De beste tijd werd door Team Maleisië op de klokken gezet. Fairuz Fauzy noteerde een 1:17.474.

Bleekemolen was na afloop zeer te spreken over de nieuwe door Ferrari aangedreven en ontworpen A1 Grand Prix-auto. Het verschil zit hem vooral in de downforce en in de remmen. De kracht van de motor voelt niet veel sterker dan de vorige, maar dat lijkt maar zo omdat we veel meer neerwaartse druk hebben. De topsnelheden zullen ook niet veel hoger liggen, maar de rondetijden worden wel veel sneller vanwege de downforce en de betere remmen.

Chris van de Drift kwam ook in actie op het circuit van Donington Park. Hij bemande de auto van Team Nieuw-Zeeland, reed 75 ronden en zette de vierde tijd neer.
