Team Groot-Brittannië niet in actie op Zandvoort

Team Groot-Brittannië is een van de teams die de dupe is van de achterliggende productie van de nieuwe A1 Grand Prix-autos. De titelpretendent komt niet in actie tijdens het eerste evenement, komend weekend op Circuit Park Zandvoort. Dat maakte het Britse team vandaag bekend.

De wagen is gewoon niet op tijd klaar. Teambaas Katie Clements: We zijn vanzelfsprekend extreem teleurgesteld dat we ondanks ons harde werk niet op Zandvoort zullen racen. Ik ben dankbaar aan iedereen die geprobeerd heeft het wel mogelijk te maken. Deze tegenslag verandert echter niets aan onze ambitie om kampioen te worden.

Ik ben blij dat dit nog steeds mogelijk is door het aangepaste puntensysteem dat de organisatie heeft ingevoerd. In feite verliezen we geen terrein door het missen van de eerste twee races. En op deze manier kan de A1 Grand Prix het publiek in Zandvoort gewoon interessante races bieden.
