Andretti Green Racing stapt in A1GP

Een grote naam in de autosport heeft aangekondigd zich te gaan focussen op de A1GP World Cup op Motorsport. Andretti Green Racing, het meest succesvolle team uit de geschiedenis van de Indy Racing League, heeft aangekondigd de Amerikaanse inzending in deze raceklasse te zullen vertegenwoordigen. Komend weekend zal het team al deelnemen aan de eerste races, komend weekend op het circuit van Zandvoort.

We zijn bijzonder trots om de Verenigde Staten te mogen vertegenwoordigen in dit sterke, gelijkwaardige deelnemersveld van de A1GP, zegt mede-teameigenaar Michael Andretti. We willen ons IRL-succes graag voortzetten in deze jonge raceklasse. Andrettis zoon, Marco Andretti, zou volgens geruchten een van de coureurs kunnen worden. Ook de naam van Danica Patrick wordt genoemd.

A1GP-voorzitter Tony Texeira: Het is geweldig om zon gerespecteerd en succesvol raceteam aan onze klasse te mogen toevoegen. Het goed voor onze status dat de belangrijkste en meest succesvolle namen in de autosport zich nu verbinden aan de A1GP.
