Team USA contracteert Charlie Kimball

Andretti Green Racing heeft bevestigd dat Charlie Kimball gaat uitkomen voor Team USA in de A1 Grand Prix. De 23-jarige Kimball zal zijn eerste officiele A1GP-start gaan maken, maar reed vorig seizoen al vier rookie-sessies.

Kimball: "Dit is een fantastische kans. Ik had pas in het vliegtuig echt even tijd erover na te denken en het te laten bezinken. Het team heeft geweldig werk geleverd door de auto op tijd klaar te hebben en ik vind het fantastisch om deel uit te mogen maken van de Andretti-familie. Ik ben niet een persoon die bekend staat om zijn geduld, dus ik sta te trappelen om te beginnen met racen."

Michael Andretti: "We zijn er trots op dat we Charlie in de auto hebben dit weekeinde. Hij heeft ervaring met de klasse en heeft goede resultaten behaald op het circuit van Zandvoort. Ik ben benieuwd wat hij voor ons kan betekenen."

Het seizoen van de A1 Grand Prix opent dit weekeinde op het circuit van Zandvoort.
