Italie naar snelste tijd, Bleekemolen zit er goed bij

Het team van Italie heeft de snelste tijd laten noteren tijdens de allereerste vrije training met de nieuwe A1GP-Ferrari. Op het circuit van Zandvoort was Onidi Fabio uiteindelijk Jeroen Bleekemolen nipt te snel af.

Het eerste gedeelte van de vrije training bleef zo goed als droog en in die omstandigheden waren Team Nederland en Jeroen Bleekemolen op hun best. Met een 1:26.892 noteert de Nederlander de snelste tijd. Daarna valt er regen en komt niemand meer aan deze tijd.

Tijdens het tweede gedeelte is de baan weer aan het opdrogen en is uiteindelijk Italie de beste, terwijl Nederland de tweede tijd rijdt. De nieuwe teams van Monaco en Korea komen ook in actie, maar vooral Jim Woo Hwang heeft moeite zijn auto op de baan te houden in de lastige omstandigheden.

Dertien auto's namen deel aan de sessie, maar slechts elf lieten een tijd noteren. Brazilie doet alleen een installatieronde, terwijl Australie de auto in de vangrail parkeert. China, Frankrijk, Portugal en Amerika kregen de auto's pas gisteravond laat afgeleverd en namen daarom nog niet deel aan de eerste vrije training. De verwachting is dat ze tijdens de tweede vrije training, die inmiddels onderweg is, gewoon meerijden.
