Jeroen Bleekemolen pakt pole position in Zandvoort

Jeroen Bleekemolen heeft zojuist de pole position gepakt tijdens de kwalificatie voor de A1GP op Circuit Park Zandvoort. Het Nederlandse team bleek uiteindelijk te sterk voor Nieuw-Zeeland, dat als tweede mag starten.

Als de kwalificatie van start gaat is het al vrij snel Jeroen Bleekemolen die de te kloppen tijd rijdt. De Nederlander komt tot een 1:25.422, ongeveer vergelijkbaar met zijn tijd uit de vrije trainingen. Na 17 minuten gaat Korea er vanaf in de Gerlach en komt er een rode vlag. Na de herstart staat er ruim een half uur op de klok en het is vrijwel meteen Ierland die aanvalt: Adam Carroll duikt ruim onder de tijd van Bleekemolen (1:24.760).

Er staan nog dertien minuten op de klok als Nederland de snelste tijd ruimschoots terugpakt met een ronde van 1:24.213. In de slotfase gaan onder andere Australie en Frankrijk in de fout. Vooral Australie kan hard aan de slag om de auto weer klaar te krijgen voor de race van morgen. Dat is overigens al de tweede keer vandaag.

Jeroen Bleekemolen start morgen dus met de beste uitgangspositie voor de sprintrace van morgenochtend. De sprintrace start om 11.00 uur.
