Danny Watts bestuurt auto Groot-Brittannië in China

Team Groot-Brittannië nam niet deel aan het openingsweekend van het A1 Grand Prix-seizoen 2008/2009 op het circuit van Zandvoort, maar in China over anderhalve week is de renstal weer van de partij. Niet met Robbie Kerr of Oliver Jarvis achter het stuur, maar Danny Watts zal zijn racedebuut in deze klasse maken. Watts was een van de testrijders in de ontwikkelingsfase van de nieuwe door Ferrari aangedreven en ontworpen auto.

Het is een groot voorrecht dat ik gevraagd ben om voor Team Groot-Brittannië te racen. Ik heb ervaring in beide A1 Grand Prix-autos en de nieuwe wagen is duidelijk een stap voorwaarts. Het team en ik moeten technisch gezien nog veel over de nieuwe bolide leren, dus het wordt een uitdaging, helemaal omdat we het eerste weekend misten. Het doel is om veel punten te scoren om de titelcampagne van Team Groot-Brittannië goed te beginnen, ook omdat wij geen resultaten meer mogen schrappen, aldus Watts.
