Tony Teixeira houdt Team Groot-Brittannië in leven

Team Groot-Brittannië bestaat alleen nog met dank aan A1 Grand Prix-baas Tony Teixeira. De Zuid-Afrikaan houdt persoonlijk de renstal in leven in afwachting van een herfinancieringsplan voor het team dat kampt met geldproblemen.

Teixeira deelde aan Autosport mede: Zolang de A1 Grand Prix bestaat, zal Team Groot-Brittannië blijven meedoen. Het is spijtig wat er is gebeurd, maar wij hebben besloten om het team voorlopig te runnen. Het komt door de tijd en dat is jammer.

Voormalig seatholder Tony Clements legt uit: We waren bezig met een herfinancieringsplan toen twee partners zich plotseling terugtrokken. Nu werken we met een boekhouder aan een andere oplossing.
