De toekomst van de A1 Grand Prix is in gevaar gekomen door een gebrek aan liquide middelen. A1 Grand Prix Operations Limited, verantwoordelijk voor de dagelijkse bezigheden van de serie, heeft faillissement aangevraagd.

Een woordvoerder liet aan The Telegraph weten: Zoals vele andere bedrijven in de huidige economische periode hebben we cashflowproblemen en we konden onze leveranciers niet meer betalen.

Wat er nu met de serie van Tony Teixeira gaat gebeuren is nog onduidelijk. Volgens het artikel probeert hij de veertig werknemers van A1 Grand Prix Operations Limited in elk geval bij andere onderdelen van A1 Grand Prix onder te brengen.
