Jarvis rijdt voor Groot-Brittannie in Mexico

Oliver Jarvis mag volgende week in Mexico zijn tweede A1 Grand Prix-race uit zijn carrière rijden. De 23-jarige coureur reed eerder dit jaar al voor Groot-Brittannië bij de race op het stratencircuit van Peking. Daar werd hij knap zevende in de sprintrace en tweede in de hoofdrace. Jarvis vervangt op het circuit van Mexico City vaste coureur Robbie Kerr.

Enthousiasme heeft zich meester gemaakt van de jonge Engelsman. Jarvis: Ik vind het geweldig om weer achter het stuur plaats te nemen van Team Groot-Brittannië. Die vrije trainingen voor rookies vind ik best leuk, maar er gaat toch niks boven echt racen.

Kerr haalde bij de vorige race in Zuid-Afrika nog het podium, maar is voor Mexico aan de kant geschoven. Teambaas John Surtees legt uit: Oliver heeft zich bewezen tijdens de vorige race die hij reed en ook in de vrije trainingen. We hopen dat hij het net zo goed gaat doen in Mexico.
