Kerr gaat voor thuisoverwinning

Team Groot-Brittannië moet zondag mee kunnen doen om de thuisoverwinning. Volgens coureur Robbie Kerr maakt zijn team op het circuit van Brands Hatch veel kans om de zege naar zich toe te trekken. De laatste paar races is Groot-Brittannië in een goede vorm. In Mexico won Oliver Jarvis de eerste race voor het team, in China herhaalde Kerr dat kunstje.

En dat geeft vertrouwen. Kerr: We voelen ons erg goed op dit moment en het momentum ligt bij ons. Alles komt de laatste races goed samen en we zijn de laatste tijd om de pech heen gereden. Dat belette ons om dit jaar voor de titel mee te doen, maar het geluk is nu aan onze zijde.

We kunnen Nieuw-Zeeland nog inhalen en daarvoor moeten we komend weekend winnen en het maximale aantal punten halen, vervolgt de zelfverzekerde Engelsman. Als je naar onze huidige vorm kijkt dan moet dat mogelijk zijn. Teambaas Jonh Surtees vult zijn coureur aan: We moeten de goede prestaties ook op Brands Hatch laten zien en ik weet dat we dat kunnen. We zullen weer sterk voor de dag komen.
