Toekomst Toccacelo ligt bij Team Italie

Enrico Toccacelo wil dolgraag ook volgend jaar voor zijn land in de A1 Grand Prix uitkomen. De 28-jarige coureur was de afgelopen twee seizoenen al vaste klant bij Team Italië en ziet geen reden om daar veranderingen in aan te brengen. Op 30 september begint het nieuwe seizoen op het circuit van Zandvoort en als het aan Toccacelo ligt stuurt hij de blauwe auto tussen de duinen door.

Toccacelo: Ik hoop dat ik er volgend jaar weer bij ben en dan wil ik om het kampioenschap meedoen. De laatste races van het afgelopen seizoen ging het steeds beter en we hebben het probleem van de kwalificaties opgelost. Volgend jaar zal de strijd nog meer open zijn en dan krijgen wij zeker een kans op de titel.

Toccacelo reed Team Italië dit seizoen naar een zevende plek in het kampioenschap. De coureur uit Rome won één maal. In de hoofdrace in China profiteerde hij maximaal van het foutje van Jeroen Bleekemolen die voor Team Nederland aan de leiding ging.
