Sprintrace-kwalificatie 2: Zuid Afrika op pole

Team Zuid-Afrika start morgen de sprintrace vanaf pole position. Team Nederland zal vanaf een vijfde positie starten na een redelijk verlopen kwalificatie op het natte circuit Park Zandvoort.

Vanmiddag werd kort na kwalificatiedeel 1, het tweede deel voor de startopstelling in de sprintrace bepaald. Hierin toonde Adrian Zaugg zich het snelst, hij troefde hiermee Frankrijk, Mexico, Zwitserland en Nederland af.

Tijdens kwalificatiedeel 2 verbeterde Team Nederland haar tijd wel maar was door de gecombineerde resultaten niet sneller dan de vier landen ervoor. Duitsland maakt een grote sprong, door een snelle tijd in de tweede sessie weet Duitsland vier plaatsen te klikmmen, tot vlak achter Nederland. Ook Ierland wist zich van een laatste plaats naar een knappe zevende tijd te rijden. Firman wist in het tweede deel een snelle tijd neer te zetten.

De pole position werd in de laatste seconden voor Zuid Afrika binnen gehaald. In de laatste seconden is Zaugg zeer snel onderweg voor het team. Hij pakt de pole position voor het team door een zeer snelle 1:45.09 te noteren.
