Tweede plek belangrijk voor Doornbos en Wilson

Robert Doornbos wil koste wat het kost tweede worden in het Champ Car-kampioenschap. Komend weekend is de seizoensfinale in Mexico en de Rotterdammer staat momenteel derde, achter kampioen Sebastien Bourdais en Justin Wilson. Doornbos heeft de titel 'Rookie of the Year' al op zak en gaat nu voor het vice-kampioenschap.

Ook al is het kampioenschap al vergeven wil ik toch een hard en intens gevecht aankondigen voor de tweede plek. Ik heb alle vertrouwen in mijn team en mijn engineers. Mijn motivatie is nog net zo hoog als aan het begin van het seizoen en ik ga er alles aan doen om die tweede plek voor me op te eisen, aldus de Minardi Team USA-coureur.

Concurrent Justin Wilson: Tweede worden is heel belangrijk voor mij en mijn team en we zijn vastberaden om boven Robert te eindigen in de eindstand. Mexico City is altijd een succesvol evenement voor mijn team geweest en we willen pole position en de racewinst. Op die manier weten we zeker dat ik tweede word in het kampioenschap. Wilson staat acht punten voor op Doornbos.
