Wilson volgt Bourdais op bij Newman/Haas/Lanigan

Justin Wilson rijdt komend seizoen voor het team van Newman/Haas/Lanigan. De 29-jarige Engelsman volgt bij het team viervoudig kampioen Sebastien Bourdais, die de overstap maakte naar Scuderia Toro Rosso, op. Vorig jaar reed Wilson nog voor RSPORTS en won de race in Assen. Samen met Graham Rahal moet hij nu op jacht gaan naar een nieuwe titel voor Newman/Haas/Lanigan.

Wilson: Ik ben enorm blij en trots dat ik me bij dit geweldige team mag voegen. Al mijn gehele Champ Car-carrière is dit het sterkste team. Het wordt moeilijk om hetzelfde te presteren als Sebastien, maar ik ga er wel voor. Ik verheug me op het bijdragen aan de succesvolle geschiedenis van deze renstal. Eerst ga ik iedereen van het team leren kennen en dan komen de resultaten vanzelf. Ik acht ons in staat om opnieuw die titel te pakken.

Mede-eigenaar Carl Haas: Wij zijn in onze nopjes met de line-up voor 2008. Graham had een goed debuutseizoen vorig jaar en bewees dat hij races kan winnen. Justin hoorde de afgelopen drie jaar continu tot de beste coureurs, deed altijd mee voor de titel en we gaan er van uit dat we met hem opnieuw een kanshebber op het kampioenschap hebben binnengehaald.
