Coureurs kijken uit naar race door straten Las Vegas

Het nieuwe Champ Car-seizoen begint over iets meer dan een week en de coureurs staan te trappelen. Op 8 april gaat de Amerikaanse raceserie van start op een nieuw stratencircuit in Las Vegas. De race door de straten van de beroemde gokstad moet het nieuwe seizoen succesvol inluiden en verschillende coureurs hebben al positief gereageerd op de lay-out van de nieuwe baan.

Inwoner van de Amerikaanse stad Paul Tracy denkt dat het een uitdagend circuit wordt. Ik ben er pas nog even langs gegaan en het ziet er erg mooi en heel snel uit. Op een ontwerp of kaart zie je dat niet, maar als je even gaat kijken op locatie zie je hoe mooi en uitdagend deze baan gaat worden.

Ook debutant Alex Figge kijkt uit naar de eerste race van het seizoen. Het circuit ziet er erg gaaf uit. Ik weet dat Jimmy Vasser betrokken is geweest bij het ontwerp en aan hem kun je dat wel overlaten. Hij heeft zelf heel veel ervaring met het rijden op stratencircuits. Er is redelijk wat hoogteverschil in de baan en van wat ik gehoord en gezien heb lijkt het een beetje op het oude circuit van Long Beach en dat was een geweldig circuit.
