Bourdais verwacht spannende titelstrijd

Sebastien Bourdais verwacht een spannende ontknoping van de titelstrijd in de Champ Car. Momenteel staat de Fransman derde in het kampioenschap, met drie punten achterstand op leider Robert Doornbos. Tussen dat tweetal staat nog Will Power met een punt voorsprong op Bourdais. Het seizoen is pas halverwege, maar het lijkt erop dat drie man zich gaan mengen in het gevecht om de titel.

Dat denkt ook Bourdais: Het schijnt elk jaar tussen drie man te moeten gaan en dit jaar lijken Robert, Will en ik onderling te gaan beslissen wie zich kampioen mag noemen. Er kan echter nog zoveel gebeuren, maar voorlopig denk ik dat het zo gaat uitpakken. Het is spannend, het zit dicht bij elkaar en ik zie dat niet veranderen totdat het seizoen is afgelopen.

Over zijn eigen situatie zegt de Fransman: We zijn al redelijk vaak uitgevallen, wat natuurlijk niet ideaal is. Dat mag vanaf nu eigenlijk niet meer gebeuren. Onze kracht was altijd zeer constant goed zijn, en niet het ene moment super en het andere moment niet. We proberen onze oude vorm weer te herpakken en hopelijk zal het genoeg zijn voor de titel.
