Komst Doornbos naar Bavaria City Racing nog onzeker

Het is nog altijd niet duidelijk of Robert Doornbos op 19 augustus acte de présence zal geven bij Bavaria City Racing. Het racespektakel vindt plaats in Rotterdam en daar komt de huidige Champ Car-coureur vandaan. De organisatie is ook al tijden bezig om een Champ Car naar de havenstad te halen, maar een paar weken voor het evenement is er nog altijd veel onduidelijkheid.

Een woordvoerster van Bavaria City Racing meldde tegenover F1Today.nl: Champ Car met Robert Doornbos is nog altijd onzeker. We hopen de komende week meer informatie te kunnen geven over deze kwestie. Doornbos deed in 2005 tijdens de eerste editie nog wel mee in de Minardi, maar vorig jaar wilde zijn werkgever Red Bull Racing niet meewerken.

Wie in ieder geval wel komen zijn Heikki Kovalainen en Nelsinho Piquet voor regerend wereldkampioen Renault. Het team van Spyker zal ook aanwezig zijn, maar met welke coureurs is nog onduidelijk. De organisatie van Bavaria City Racing gaat er vooralsnog van uit dat de op non-actief gestelde Christijan Albers in actie zal komen, maar de vraag is of hij daar zin in heeft. Het is wel zeker dat Spyker in de straten van Rotterdam te bewonderen zal zijn met twee coureurs, maar wie de autos van de Nederlandse renstal besturen is nog onzeker.
