VT2: Doornbos voorlopig snelste op Zolder

Robert Doornbos heeft in de voorbereiding op de eerste kwalificatie op het circuit van Zolder goede zaken gedaan. De Nederlander reed in de tweede oefensessie de snelste tijd neer en hij was ook rapper dan de beste tijd van vanochtend. Achter hem staan de twee coureurs van Team Australia, met Will Power voor Simon Pagenaud.

Kampioenschapleider Sebasiten Bourdais reed slechts de tiende tijd. In tegenstelling tot vanochtend was RSPORTS-rijder Justin Wilson nu wel in staat een tijd neer te zetten. De Engelsman werd achtste. In de eerste training was Wilson betrokken bij een ongeluk met Dan Clarke en Jan Heylen. De laatste twee heren reden ook in de tweede training geen snelle ronde.
