Dan Clarke mag niet meedoen op Zolder

Minardi Team USA-rijder Dan Clarke mag dit weekend niet meedoen aan de race op het Belgische circuit van Zolder. De reden daarvoor is het ongeluk dat hij vanochtend in de eerste vrije training veroorzaakte. Clarke knalde tegen Justin Wilson en Jan Heylen aan en veroorzaakte een chaos in de eerste oefensessie. De auto van Wilson was zo beschadigd dat hij de eerste training moest laten schieten en Heylen verschijntt vandaag de hele dag niet meer op de baan.

Tony Cotman van de Champ Car-organisatie vertelt: Ik heb alle data bestudeerd en het was overduidelijk wie hier fout zat. Dit is totaal onacceptabel, het was nota bene in een installatieronde. Dan Clarke was veel te agressief en reed veel te hard. Hij stond al onder toezicht na eerdere incidenten en als je dan weer in de fout gaat zijn harde maatregelen nodig. Daarom mag hij dit weekend niet meer meedoen.
