Tomczyk aan kop in Hockenheim, Van der Zande vijfde

Martin Tomczyk is het laatste DTM-weekend van het seizoen goed begonnen. De kersverse kampioen was in de anderhalf uur durende testsessie bijna twee tienden sneller dan Mercedes-coureur Maro Engel. Renger van der Zande sloot de eerste sessie af met de vijfde tijd.

Het waren de 'Jahreswagens' die de toon zette in Hockenheim. Tomczyk werd op 0.168 seconden gevolgd door Maro Engel, terwijl Christian Vietoris de derde tijd reed. Diens teamgenoot Renger van der Zande was goed voor de vijfde tijd met een achterstand van 0.418 seconden op Tomczyk. Daar tussenin eindigde Mike Rockenfeller op de vierde plaats.

Achter Van der Zande reed Mattias Ekstrom naar de zesde tijd, gevolgd door Timo Scheider en Filipe Albuquerque. Susie Stoddart eindigde als negende. De Britse coureur is afgelopen week getrouwd en zal vanaf heden dan ook Susie Wolff heten. David Coulthard completeerde de top tien, terwijl andere grote namen als Bruno Spengler (twaalfde), Gary Paffett (vijftiende), Jamie Green (zestiende) en Ralf Schumacher (achttiende en laatste) nog tekort kwamen op de snelle tijden.

weet iemand hoe het met de kansen voor van der zande zit voor komend jaar? Helaas heeft hij nog geen punt(en) weten te scoren...

  Volgens jaar heeft iedereen een 2012 auto. Maar of Renger voor Mercedes uit gaat komen weet ik niet. Vorige race heeft hij aangetoond dat hij goed uit de voeten kan met een dtm bolide, echter werd zijn 5e plaats afgenomen door een verkeerde vleugel. Gelukkig geniet hij nog wel de voorkeur van Norbert Haug, dus grote kans dat hij volgend jaar nog steeds in de dtm rijdt. Had hem liever in de gp2 gezien, maar als je geen budget hebt houdt dat verhaal ook op.

  Renger doet het super de laatste races. Is op dit moment duidelijk beter dan Ralf Schumacher.
  Maar ja, Ralf is vandaag bekend gemaakt als een van de 6 Mercedes rijders voor 2012.
  Het draait dus niet allemaal om talent...
