Barcelona dag 1: Felipe Massa op slicks naar snelste tijd

Felipe Massa heeft tijdens de eerste testdag in Barcelona veruit de snelste tijd gereden. Op meer dan 2,5 seconde achterstand eindigt Honda's Alexander Wurz als tweede. Pedro de la Rosa wordt voor McLaren derde. Al deze tijden zijn gereden op slicks.

Bridgestone had vandaag voor alle teams negen sets slicks bij zich, die getest konden worden buiten de normale testlimiet om. Alle teams maakten daar gebruik van met uitzondering van BMW Sauber en Toyota. Heidfeld kwam op de gegroefde banden alsnog tot de vierde tijd, een tiende langzamer dan De la Rosa. Ook waren er vandaag veel nieuwtjes te ontdekken. De belangrijkste zien we bij Ferrari; de Italianen testten eindelijk in het openbaar met een nieuwe neus. Daarbij is een gat gemaakt in de neus ter hoogte van het startnummer. Dit idee zou de aerodynamica ten goede moeten komen. McLaren test met een 2009-spec achtervleugel, terwijl Renault een nieuwe voorvleugel uitprobeert.

Felipe Massa was op de slicks en met de nieuwe neus mijlenver vooruit: zijn snelste tijd van 1:18.339 was voor iedereen ver buiten bereik. Ook op slicks rijdend kijkt De la Rosa al tegen een gat aan van meer dan drie seconden. In totaal waren er vier rode vlag situaties: Glock, Piquet en Heidfeld spinden een keer en Nakajima belandde laat in de middag naast het circuit.

Morgen testen negen teams verder in Barcelona. Super Aguri laat verstek gaan door financiële problemen en Scuderia Toro Rosso is vanaf woensdag van de partij.

Allememaggies Adriaan 1:18 dat is wel heel erg rap. Zelfs als je dat met kwalificatietijden van 2007 vergelijkt (snelste ronde in 1:20.6) is dat wel heel erg veel verschil.

Dat is zeker een heel groot verschil. Ik dacht zelfs dat het toen (2007) ook nog warmer was tijdens de kwalificatie. Ook dan heb je meer grip.

Het ziet er dus wel naar uit dat de slicks zich gaan bewijzen. Nu nog voor de langere afstand want ze slijten wel als sneeuw voor de zon.

Ja maar alsnog de rest die ook op slicks hebben gereden hebben wel vele langzamere tijd. We zullen zien hoe het zich uitpakt. En miss werkt die neus wel heel erg goed ofzo..:O
