Massa probeert favorietenrol van Ferrari af te schuiven

Ferrari-coureur Felipe Massa ziet zijn team niet als de gedoodverfde favoriet voor de winst in de Grand Prix van Frankrijk van komend weekend. In 2007 behaalde Ferrari nog een dubbelzege op Magny-Cours, maar volgens de Braziliaan maken concurrenten McLaren en BMW Sauber dit jaar net zo veel kans op de winst als Ferrari.

Massa: De circuits van Monaco en Canada pasten de afgelopen jaren beter bij McLaren en Ferrari kwam beter uit de verf in Frankrijk en Groot-Brittannië. Ik denk niet dat het dit jaar ook zo makkelijk in elkaar steekt, al is het alleen maar omdat we ook rekening moeten houden met BMW Sauber. Maar wij waren dit jaar in Monaco ook sterker, we hadden de hele eerste startrij in handen ondanks dat we meer brandstof mee hadden dan McLaren.

In Canada hadden we ook een goede racesnelheid, het zit dit jaar op alle circuits gewoon veel dichter bij elkaar. Ik hoop dat we competitief zijn in Frankrijk, maar je kan er op dit moment weinig over zeggen. Ik hou in ieder geval van het circuit van Magny-Cours. Op deze baan scoor ik meestal wel goed. Hopelijk kunnen we het resultaat van vorig jaar herhalen, maar dan in een andere volgorde.
