Vitantonio Liuzzi verpietert op reservebank

Vitantonio Liuzzi begint zijn plek op de reservebank bij Force India steeds meer zat te worden. De voormalig racecoureur van Red Bull Racing en Scuderia Toro Rosso heeft meer moeite met zijn testrol dan vooraf gedacht en wil zo snel mogelijk weer een racestoeltje bemachtigen.

Liuzzi in Autosprint: Ik had niet verwacht dat ik het zo zwaar zou hebben met een jaar niet racen in de Formule 1. Als ik eerlijk ben voel ik me heel slecht. Dit wachten is uitputtend, kijken naar races omdat ik zelf niet kan starten is moeilijk.

Force India biedt met gelukkig de mogelijkheid om veel testkilometers te maken en ze hebben veel vertrouwen in me. We hebben samen meerdere aerodynamische en mechanische verbeteringen voor de auto ontwikkeld. Vooral Giancarlo Fisichella en ik, want Adrian Sutil heeft minder ervaring dan ons.

Liuzzi heeft wel vertrouwen in zijn terugkeer op de startgrid. Op basis van onze overeenkomst kan alles gebeuren en maak ik kans om een vaste racecoureur te worden. Op dit moment ligt alles nog open en er is niks besloten voor 2009, dus niemand kan zichzelf al rijk rekenen.

De beslissing valt halverwege augustus en dan bedoel ik niet alleen bij Force India. Andere coureurs worden ook beschikbaar. Alles hangt af van Fernando Alonso, wanneer hij een besluit neemt zal de transfermarkt in beweging komen. Van mijn team mag ik weg als ik ergens anders kan racen.

Ik vind dat deze coureur tog in de F1 hoort, is teminste nog iemand de clown in de F1.

In de MotoGP hebben ze er ook 1 en dat is de populairste coureur..
