Schumacher verlangt niet naar terugkeer in Formule 1

Michael Schumacher is niet van plan om een comeback in de Formule 1 te maken. De Duitser liet afgelopen week weten dat bij zijn beslissing om te stoppen de positie van Felipe Massa meegespeeld heeft. De zevenvoudig wereldkampioen wilde niet dat zijn vriend zonder werk kwam te zitten.

De geruchten over een rentree kwamen daardoor weer tot leven, maar de eind 2006 gestopte coureur heeft geen enkele intentie om weer Grands Prix te gaan rijden. De inmiddels 39-jarige Schumacher zegt in Stern: Ik hou echt van mijn nieuwe leven. Nu heb ik de vrijheid waar ik eigenlijk al heel lang naar op zoek was. Ik peins absoluut niet over een terugkeer in de Formule 1. Het is tijdens tests mooi om te zien dat ik nog mee zou kunnen komen als ik dat zou willen. Maar ik voel me nu veel gelukkiger met mijn werk op de achtergrond.
