Nick Heidfeld voelt goede vorm terugkeren

BMW Sauber-coureur Nick Heidfeld kampte in de eerste acht races met veel problemen, maar de Duitser voelt zich nu weer helemaal in vorm. De moeizame kwalificaties moeten tot de verleden tijd behoren en op Silverstone reed de Duitser keurig naar een tweede plek. Heidfeld tegenover Sport Bild: Ik voel me weer goed in de auto. Voor Silverstone reed de auto mij, nu heb ik weer de controle over de bolide.

Dat komt mooi uit, want de geruchten gingen steeds vaker dat Heidfeld na het huidige seizoen plaats zou moeten maken voor Fernando Alonso. Nu kan de 31-jarige coureur de teamleiding nog overtuigen om hem te behouden. Sinds ik in de Formule 1 debuteerde, zijn vele coureurs gekomen en weer gegaan. Ik ben er nog en ik heb de steun van mijn team, aldus Nick Heidfeld aan de vooravond van zijn thuisrace op de Hockenheimring.
