Alonso: "Piquet jr moet punten gaan scoren"

Volgens Fernando Alonso is het voor Renault van belang dat Nelson Piquet jr zo snel mogelijk ook punten gaat scoren voor het Franse team. Volgens de Spanjaard is dat erg belangrijk als Renault als vierde wil eindigen in het constructeurskampioenschap.

Nelson Piquet jr kent een moeizaam debuutseizoen waarbij hij in bijna alle races achterblijft op teamgenoot Alonso en slechts een keer in de punten wist te eindigen. In Hockenheim kwalificeerde de jonge Braziliaan zich als zeventiende, terwijl Alonso vijfde staat.

Toch ontkent de voormalig kampioen dat hij gefrustreerd is door de matige prestaties van zijn teamgenoot. Alonso: "Nee, uiteindelijk is het ieder voor zich. Maar ons doel voor dit seizoen is om als vierde te eindigen bij de constructeurs. Maar daarvoor moeten we wel met twee auto's punten scoren. We zullen allebei ons best doen, maar vandaag zal het voor Nelsinho moeilijk worden om punten te scoren."

Toch geeft Alonso wel toe dat het ook een taak voor het team is Piquet een auto te geven waarmee hij zich beter kan kwalificeren. "Hopelijk kunnen we ons allebei snel in Q3 kwalificeren, zodat we kunnen voldoen aan ons gestelde doel. Daarvoor zal het team ook moeten zorgen door Nelsinho meer vertrouwen te geven in de auto."

Momenteel staat Renault zevende met 15 punten. Het gaat naar de vierde plek van Toyota bedraagt tien punten.

Lekkere Alonso haters die jullie zijn!

Heel erg goed van Piquet, maar dit is dus toch ook precies wat Alonso wil! Dat hij punten gaat pakken... Dat doet ie, dus zo op z\'n neus heeft hij hem niet gekregen hoor!

  Nou eigenlik wel. Alonso is 2 voudig kampioen. ZIjn teamgenoot komt als qual op plek 17 en komt voor het eerst naar een podium terwijl hij het niet echt beter doet.
  
  zelfde als dat kubica de eerste wedstrijd wint voor BMW en nick net 2e.
