VT3: Slimme Heidfeld sluit laatste training als snelst af

Nick Heidfeld heeft de derde en laatste vrije training voor de Grand Prix van België als snelste coureur afgesloten. De Duitser reed op een opdrogende baan naar de snelste tijd door pas laat aan te zetten om een snelle tijd te noteren. Heikki Kovalainen en Fernando Alonso sloten de training als tweede en derde af.

Jenson Button was de enige coureur die geen tijd wist te zetten. Na enkele honderden meters na het uitrijden van de pitstraat moest de Honda-coureur zijn wagen stil zetten.

De door regen geteisterde derde vrije training begon slechts op een natte baan maar in droge weeromstandigheden. Toen tijdens de installatieronden van de coureurs de regen al begon te vallen besloten veel coureurs terug hun pitbox in te duiken. Toch besloten veel coureurs daarna de baan op te gaan omdat de kans zeer groot is dat ook zondag een regenachtige sessie wordt verwacht. De BMW's, McLaren's en Ferrari's betraden het circuit pas later.

Scuderia Toro Rosso, Red Bull en Williams domineerden lang de top van het veld totdat de topcoureurs een serieuze poging deden de snelste tijd te rijden. Hamilton en Kovalainen probeerden dat maar de man die slimmer was dan de twee McLaren-coureurs was Heidfeld. Met een goede getimede en snaarstrakke ronde reed de BMW-coureur naar een 1:47.876 en pakte de snelste tijd in de laatste vrije training op Spa-Francorchamps.

Ben benieuwd volgens de info zou nu de de poll zijn voor Heikki met achter hem hamilton en daarna massa en kimi.

Wat heeft massa trouwens weinig rondjes gedaan.

De ferraris hadden na een half uur nog niet eens een installatieronde gereden. Ze hebben gewacht todat de rest de baan droog had gereden.

Ben benieuwd wat het wordt vandaag en morgen.

Hoe slagen ze er in godsnaam toch steeds in Raikkonen op de vuile kant te doen starten. Verloor zo vorige race een plek bij de start en zal dat nu waarschijnlijk weerdoen. Aaaaaaaaaargh!
