Banco Santander mogelijk toch naar Ferrari

McLaren-sponsor Banco Santander is ook zonder Fernando Alonso van plan om de overstap naar Ferrari te maken, zo meldt de Spaanse krant Sport. De Spaanse firma zou vanaf 2010 te zien moeten zijn op de rode bolides van de renstal uit Maranello.

Het driejarige contract van Banco Santander bij McLaren loopt na volgend seizoen af en het bedrijf is volgens Sport niet van plan om de optie voor nog twee jaar te lichten. De voorwaarde dat Fernando Alonso voor Ferrari gaat racen zou in dit geval niet van doorslaggevend belang voor Banco Santander zijn, aangezien het Italiaanse team in Monza bekendmaakte dat het contract van Kimi Raikkonen verlengd is tot eind 2010, terwijl Felipe Massa al tot en met dat seizoen vastlag.
