Raikkonen klaar voor strijd om beide wereldtitels

Kimi Raikkonen is klaar om de strijd met McLaren aan te gaan om beide wereldtitels te behalen voor Ferrari. Dat werd duidelijk tijdens een interview met de Finse wereldkampioen in het Japanse Fuji. Raikkonen was erg duidelijk in de rolverdeling tussen hem en teamgenoot Felipe Massa.

Raikkonen: "Ik rijdt mijn race en hij die van hem. We willen beide kampioenschappen winnen en ik weet wat er van me verwacht wordt. Felipe moet de race winnen om zelf in de strijd te blijven en op die manier kan ik misschien iets voor hem betekenen. Maar dan moet hij wel eerst voor me zien te komen. Het valt niet te voorspellen hoe alles zal gaan uitwerken. Het doel is in ieder geval alle drie de wedstrijden te winnen. Zolang we geen problemen kennen, denk ik dat we dat kunnen."

Raikkonen snapt als geen ander dat hij ook buiten de auto een grote rol speelt. "We zijn een groot team en werken goed samen. Tijdens besprekingen kan iedereen zeggen wat hij denkt met als doel de auto te verbeteren. De coureur is daarin net zo belangrijk als de andere teamleden. Er heerst een prettige sfeer binnen het team."
