Samenwerking tussen Force India en Draco Racing

Tijdens een evenement in het Italiaanse Brescia hebben het Formule 1-team van Force India en International Draco Racing dinsdag aangekondigd dat ze gaan samenwerken. Het doel hiervan is een betere doorstroom van jonge racetalenten. De deal werd aangekondigd tijdens de presentatie van de nieuwe World Series-bolide van het Draco-team, die geheel in de kleuren van Force India is gestoken.

We hebben uitgekeken naar deze samenwerking omdat we op deze manier de weg willen bereiden voor onze jeugdige talenten, zegt Draco teameigenaar Adriano Morini. In het team van Force India hebben we deze bereidwilligheid gevonden en hebben daarom deze nieuwe uitdaging vormgegeven. Jonge coureurs worden steeds eerder gescout en dit project is een uitstekende manier om hier het beste van te profiteren.

Het International Draco Racing-team heeft in haar twintigjarig bestaan zeven Europese titels in de wacht gesleept. Acht van haar coureurs zijn doorgedrongen tot de Formule 1, waaronder Rubens Barrichello, Felipe Massa en Ricardo Zonta. Ook pakte de Nederlander Nicky Pastorelli in 2004 met de Italianen de titel in de Formule 3000. Momenteel is Draco zowel in de World Series 3.5 by Renault als de Formule Renault 2.0 vertegenwoordigd.
