Murray Walker tipt Kubica als kampioen van 2009

BMW Sauber-rijder Robert Kubica eist komend seizoen de wereldtitel voor zich op. Die voorspelling deed de legendarische Formule 1-commentator Murray Walker op de Autosport International Show. De nieuwe reglementen kunnen voor grote veranderingen in de rangorde zorgen en BMW Sauber en Kubica gaan daarvan profiteren.

Althans, dat denkt Walker. Niemand kan goed inschatten wat er in 2009 gaat gebeuren. De introductie van KERS, de slicks die gelukkig terugkeren en nog vele andere dingen die dit jaar gaan veranderen. Het wordt compleet anders. Als je mij vraagt wie de wereldtitel wint, dan zeg ik Robert Kubica in de BMW Sauber. BMW is een zeer goede organisatie, ze maken geweldige straatautos en ik ben onder de indruk van wat ze tot nu gepresteerd hebben. En ze worden alleen maar beter.

Ik zie in Renault een grote concurrent, helemaal met Fernando Alonso achter het stuur. Hij wil zich dolgraag bewijzen. Vorig jaar sloegen ze de plank mis omdat ze niet op het randje van de motorreglementen leefden zoals andere teams, maar dat is recht getrokken voor dit jaar.
