Renault niet bezorgd ondanks matige testtijden

Renaults technisch directeur Bob Bell maakt zich geen zorgen over de vorm van de Fransen. Het Franse team bivakkeerde de meeste tests onderaan de tijdenlijst, maar volgens Bell is de tweede 2009-tijd van Fernando Alonso en slechts twee tienden achter Hamilton tijdens de test van gisteren meer representatief.

Bell: "Het is nog vroeg dag, maar ik ben meer en meer tevreden over de prestaties van de nieuwe auto. We hadden een teleurstellende test in Portimao, maar we maar een droge dag hadden. De betrouwbaarheid stemde me echter wel tot tevredenheid, we kon zonder noemenswaardige problemen kilometers maken."

Bell vervolgt: "Wat ik afgelopen week in Jerez heb gezien, is dat er geen fundamentele problemen in het chassis zitten. Hij heeft een goede balans en reageert positief op veranderingen. Over het algemeen heb ik een goed gevoel over de auto, waarmee we wellicht een goede prestatie kunnen neerzetten in Melbourne."
